February 2012 - May 2012 - West Texas - 3 TA’s for Customer Representation during Dual 7FA Major Inspections.  Scope included full D11 Steam Turbine major inspection of HP/IP and LP rotor sections.  Generator fields also included in scope via robot inspections.  At beginning of dual CT inspections, nearby sister CT unit unexpectedly experienced a compressor failure whereby Viking provided guidance to plant during entire rebuild.  Guidance included development of repair work scopes, schedules, parts lists, compressor enhancement options, sequencing of resources, as well as outage oversight during rebuild.  All 4 units returned back to full service.


March 2012 - Florida - 1 TA provide Outage Training to Plant Turbine Engineer - Training included overview of current outage task sequence, onsite parts inspections, and benefits of outage oversight for future upcoming CT and ST outages.


March 2012 - Texas - 1 TA providing Customer Representation during dual 7FA Hot Gas Path inspections.  Scope included compressor inspections as well as generator hydrogen seal repairs.


March 2012 - April 2012 - 2 TA’s providing technical direction for Onsite Maintenance Crew to perform Modified 7FA Hot Gas Path with rotor pull and replacement / inspection of aft compressor stators.  Scope included extra work consisting of compressor tip grinding and updated generator alignment moves.

May 2012 - Illinois - 1 TA’s providing Customer Representation during a 7FH2 generator reassembly post rewedge.  Oversight of critical tasks  included field installation via trolley system, endshield reassembly, H2 seal reassembly, modification of generator hold down bolts, and final alignments to generator stator and turning gear base.


June 2012 - Sept 2012 - 2 TA’s providing Technical Direction and Outage Oversight due to a 7FA MNQC Quiet Combustor compressor failure.  Scope included complete replacement of the mid compressor casing upper and lower half sections.  Tasks provided by Viking included support to 1.) Develop repair scopes with plant engineering group for failed rotor and bearings 2.) Provide daily tasks To-Do lists for the Onsite Maintenance Crew 3.) Guide the outage sequence and priorities 4.) Develop action items list to prepare unit for new casing installation prior to rotor return 5.) Develop parts lists for MNQC style unit to supplement the parts provided for by the compressor package enhancement.


Sept 2012 - Oct 2012 - Pennsylvania - 2 TA’s providing Customer Representation during 3rd Party Compressor Upgrade.  Scope included rotor pull with generator alignment.


Sept 2012 - Dec 2012 - 2 TA’s providing outage oversight while Onsite Maintenance Crews performed Major Inspections on two (2) 7FA gas turbines.  Outage scope included OEM hot gas path component upgrades and OEM compressor package upgrades requiring shipment of rotor off site.  Corresponding generator fields were also removed with TA oversight and sent to shops for inspection.  Onsite reassembly of turbine rotors and generator fields overseen by Viking.

OEM crew working turbine section and customer traveling maintenance crew performing generator removal/installation. Tasks also included holding LOTO clearances, coordinating work permits, and organizing / ordering / sorting / inventorying / delivering consumable parts to crews
through offsite warehouses utilizing Viking parts lists while adhering to outage schedule requirements. Additionally tasks included helping customer with cost reviews and decision making meetings as unexpected events / scope arose


Sept 2013 - Nov 2013 - 2 Technical Advisors providing Customer Representation and Implementation Manager roles during two (2) consecutive 7FA Compressor Package 4 Upgrades. Performed parts inventory of compressor upgrade parts prior to the outage for all units.  Responsible for LOTO administration over OEM crew and coordinated activities with Operations personnel.  Coordinated parts needs and assisted with allocating parts to each unit; organized “bolt world” for efficiency.  Assisted with all day-to-day outage activities and reported out at outage update meetings; assisted OEM as needed. Main contact for all NDE services. Provided QC of Package 4 activities – recorded and checked IGV angles and dimensions Package Engineer prior to drilling and pinning, verified hook fit machining, assisted the customer with witness and hold points for the rotor activities.  Provided contractor oversight to ensure all procedures were properly followed and all inspection forms were completed. Kept up with all FME procedures.  Signed off for all QA/QC hold points during the outage on gas turbine units. Provided generator/turning gear alignment recommendations.


Oct 2013 - North Carolina - Customer representation during two (2) Siemens 501F turbine blade ring realignments and combustion hardware disassembly/reassembly. Tasks included daily observations, administering daily work permits for multiple OEM crews, holding hot work, confined space and LOTO permits on multiple units. Scope included additional tasks associated with exhaust baffle repairs and coordination of insulation and scaffolding crews.


Oct 2013 - Nov 2013 - Georgia -  Customer Representative during Planned 7FA+e Hot Gas Path with turbine rotor removal and 7FH2 stator wedge inspection. Scope included upgrades 1st stage shroud blocks, journal/thrust bearing inspections and repairs, I&C guidance, alignment
recommendations and oversight, generator endwinding repairs, NDE inspections, and bolted H2 seal casing repairs and machining at local machine shop directed and overseen by Viking.



Oct 2013 - Nov 2013 - Colorado - Customer Representation on a Siemens 501FD2 Gas Turbine Hot Gas Path.  Providing technical reviews along with daily observations for the customer.


Dec 2013 - Colorado - Technical direction on 7FA Hot Gas Path Inspection with 3rd party crew.  Provided customer representation along with daily observations.


Dec 2013 - Multiple Locations - Performed onsite parts inventoried in preparation for upcoming Spring outages.  Staged onsite connexs to help increase efficiency and accuracy of upcoming outages.


Jan 2014 - Georgia - Helped construct upcoming compressor casing change out “RFP” Request for Proposal bids


Jan 2014 - Multiple Locations - Attended several pre-outage meeting and schedule reviews in preparation for Spring Outage season jobs


Feb 2014 - Pennsylvania - Four (4) customer reps to oversee dual Hot Gas Paths on the gas turbines and Major Inspection on D11 steam turbine.  Tasks to include daily observations of tasks performed along with technical reviews of component inspections.


Jan 2014 to Feb 2014 – North Carolina - Quality oversight and Implementation Leader supporting OEM perform Major Inspection of Siemens 501F-D2 gas turbine.  Viking oversaw entire outage with quality control points and technical documentation verifying all tasks properly performed.


Early February 2014 to End of March 2014 – Pennsylvania – Dual GE 7FA Hot Gas Path Inspections providing contractor oversight for duration of outage.  Performed QC checks on all hold points during reassembly, performed FME closeouts / borescope inspections during every step of reassembly. Assisted with parts inspections / condition evaluations.  Ensured contractor collected proper turbine and generator data and reviewed data for accuracy.  Assisted customer with parts layout and inventory. Built generator parts list for customer.  Provided customer with proposed generator work scope (Magic inspections turned into majors due to findings).  Assisted with field removal stand installation and field removal. Provided customer and contractor best practices for generator work. Interfaced with repair shop to provide assistance during seal / seal casing repairs and generator bearing repairs.  Performed all FME / QC checks during hydrogen seal installation. Assisted customer with evaluations of 2
nd and 3rd stage turbine buckets. Provided technical recommendations on refurbished parts provided by the contractor for installation into the unit. 


Early February 2014 to End of March 2014 – Pennsylvania – Toshiba D11 Major inspection with vibration troubleshooting.  Two shifts of coverage during ST major inspection providing outage outsight with daily observations speaking to technical issues and QC points.


Mid Feb 2014 to Mid March 2014 – North Carolina – GE 7FA Compressor Package 4 Upgrade with rotor removal.  Tasks included quality oversight with implementation manager duties during outage.  Scope included on-line water wash upgrade, stator shim pinning, ITH shell bolting upgrade.   Viking also coordinated parts needed and status of parts ordering, provided QC of Package 4 activities, verified Bigfoot Mod hook fit machining, assisted the customer with witness and hold points for the rotor activities, maintained outage recommendations and reminders for outage items, and participated in outage meetings to discuss pending items. Daily observations performed to document progress. 


March 2014 – Georgia – GE 7FA compressor forced outage to swap out Stage S0 and S1 stage stator vane segments, Viking provided customer representation both shifts with observation reports.


Mid March 2014 to End of April 2014 – Tennessee - GE 7FA Hot Gas Path and Generator Minor Inspection.  Performed quality oversight role with FME closeouts and reporting on QC points.  Inspected removed parts for repair assessments while following turbine crews completion of all required inspection forms for correctness.  Daily observations provided with summary report at end of outage.


Mid March 2014 to End of April 2014 – Tennessee - GE “A10” Major steam path inspection and Generator MAGIC inspection, N3 packing modification, and main steam valves inspection.
Viking provided customer technical advocate to preform QC checks of all activities associated with disassembly, inspection, and reassembly.  Also maintained recommendations and provided daily updates of outage activities and pending scope items while tracking parts ordered & pending action items, and represented customer at daily outage meetings.
Finally created customer final report and summary of all activities and findings during outage.


Mid March 2014 to Mid April 2014 – Virginia – Dual gas turbine outages on GE frame 7Fs.  One scope to perform Hot Gas Path with #1 Thrust Bearing inspection.  Second unit was full Compressor Enhancement package with rotor out and seed rotor installed.  Nighshift coverage by Viking acting as sole rep overseeing all quality aspected of outage from QC point, FME closeouts, correct parts reassembly, repair parts inspections, stator vane counts & P/N verifications.  Daily observations along with full report submitted to customer at end of outage.


End of March 2014 to End of March 2014 – North Carolina - 2 Technical Advisors providing Customer Representation and Implementation Manger during second of two GE 7FA Compressor Enhancement (Package 3) modifications and 7FH2 generator field removal & inspection. Tasks included daily oversight with observation reports on OEM crew working turbine section. Mid April 2014 to Early May 2014 – Texas – Nightshift coverage to oversee dual outages on GE 7FAs Compressor Package 3 Upgrade and Combustion Inspection on second unit.  Provided customer representation throughout the outage with reporting.


End of April 2014 to End of May 2014 – South Carolina – Two representatives from Viking to oversee the turnover of a 7FA to a new customer removing all uncovered 3
rd party components and installation of the new components under new Long Term Service Agreement for new customer.  Tasks included making sure all parts were correctly tracked and installed with proper hardware.  FME closeouts and full photo documentation taking during the outage to accompany the daily observations logging the progress and completion of the successful outage.


End of April 2014 to Mid May 2014 – Virginia – Customer representation during GE 7FA transition piece change out to Low DP liners for improved emissions controls.  FME closeouts and QC checks performed by Viking rep and documented daily.


May 2014 to June 2014 – North Carolina – GE “G3” Major inspection including HP, IP, LPA, LPB, Generator, Valves, MHC controls and Auxiliaries inspections.  Viking rep provided quality support and craft direction for reassembly activities, provided technical data sheet reviews where needed and daily reporting.  Also rep helped calculated shell alignment moves as well as coupling alignment moves.  Finally rep also helped coordinate oil flush coordination


Summer 2014 – North Carolina - Viking support to pre-kit consumable parts at customer warehouse for upcoming Fall 2014 outages. 


End of August 2014 to Mid Nov 2014 – Major Inspection on Westinghouse Steam Turbine supported by Viking rep.  Tasks included inspection of HP, IP, LPA, LPB, Generator Rewedge and Field Boresonics, Valves, and Auxiliaries inspections.
Viking provided night shift technical support and craft direction for disassembly, inspection and reassembly activities.  Also supported GV seat modifications and TV seat pin mods.


Sept 2014 to Oct 2014 – Virginia – 2 Customer Reps to oversee two GE 7FA Major inspections with rotors left onsite for full rotor inspections and repairs including compressor blends.  Issues with 3
rd stage bucket FOD addressed.  Full observations and QC check lists followed on both shifts.


Late Sept 2014 to Mid Dec 2014 – North Carolina – 2 Customer Reps to oversee GE 7FA Compressor Package 5 upgrade.  Oversight provided with QC roles along with Implementation Manager role to help support LOTO procedures.  Daily observations provided along with technical reviews of inspection forms.


Sept 2014 to March 2015 – Georgia – 1 Customer Reps to oversee MD&A remove and replace 7F 7221 Compressor Discharge Casing (CDC).  Full alignment overseen by Viking for QC points and verification of recommended moves by service provider.  Guidance given to customer in decision making process. Full documentation given via daily observations, outage report, and action items list during and after outage. 


Sept 2014 to Oct 2014 – North Carolina – 3 Customer Reps to provide QC support and Implementation Manager Roles helping with LOTO administration & confined space evaluator for Siemens hot gas path inspections on two (2) 501Fs. Provided coordination of all activities for both outages, interacting between the operations personnel and work crews.  Responsible for LOTO administration over OEM crew and coordinated activities with operations personnel.  Assisted with all day-to-day outage activities and reported out at outage update meetings; assisted OEM as needed. Provided contractor oversight to ensure all procedures were properly followed and all inspection forms were completed.  Kept up with all FME procedures. Signed off for all QA/QC hold points during the outage on gas turbine units.

Oct 2014 to Mid Nov 2014 – 3 Customer Reps during Steam Turbine HP & IP Major Inspection GE D11 style unit.  Scope also included having two of three reps on GE 7FA during HGP outage with Compressor Package 4 upgrade.  Oversight with QC and FME checks also included during Generator minor inspections and H2 seal inspections.


Mid Oct 2014 to End of Nov 2014 – North Carolina - 2 QC reps with roles as Implementation managers to oversee dual 7FA Hot Gas Paths with upgrades to Advanced Gas Paths to increase MWs.  Viking oversaw all LOTO and Confined Space activities along with technical oversight.  Reps recorded serial numbers for capital spare tracking.  New procedures to safely turn rotor followed with coordination by Viking between plant operations and labor crews in order to safely replace turbine buckets in detailed procedure.  Daily observations done by Viking summarizing all QC checks, FME closeouts, action items, and reviews of all inspection forms.  Photos documenting entire outage taken by both Viking shifts. 


Last week of Oct 2014 – Virginia - Customer representation during GE 7FA transition piece change out to Low DP liners for improved emissions controls.  FME closeouts and QC checks performed by Viking rep and documented daily.

Feb 2015 to End of May 2015 – North Carolina – LSTG 411MW ST Inspection – Technical direction by 1 Viking rep during Valve inspections and full Generator Inspection.


Feb 2015 to June 2015 – Indiana – Customer rep during Siemens 501D5A Hot Gas Path inspection by 3
rd party labor vendor.  Tasks included implementation manager overseeing LOTO and Confined Space evolutions.  Technical oversight recorded in daily observations.  Oversight also provided during parts allotments to crews during reassembly.


Feb 2015 to March 2015 – North Carolina – Two QC inspectors with roles as Implementation managers during GE 7FA Compressor Package 5 upgrade.  Rotor shipped offsite and lower unit prepped by crew during away time.  Viking oversaw LOTO, Confined Space, and all technical issues on behalf of customer during the OEM outage.  Full outage reports given with photos and daily observations.  Parts tracking of serial numbers and consumable parts also handled by Viking during outage.

March 2015 – Indiana – 1 Technical Rep for GE 7EA Hot Gas Path.  Role included nightshift QC oversight and review of all technical documentation and hold point on behalf of customer.  Provided daily observations. 


March 2015 – Indiana – Back to back GE 7EA Hot Gas Paths with Viking oversight on dayshift for customer acting as Implementation Manager handling LOTO, Confined Spaces, QC points, FME closeouts, parts reviews, inspection form reviews, and daily observations.


March 2015 to May 2015 – Louisiana – Triple GE 7FA majors performed by OEM with 1 Viking rep for oversight supporting plant reps.  Technically overseen by rep documenting QC points, FME closeouts, inspection forms, and providing daily observations with full report including photos at end of outages.


March 2015 to April 2015 – North Carolina - 2 QC reps with roles as Implementation managers to oversee dual 7FA Hot Gas Paths with upgrades to Advanced Gas Paths to increase MWs.  Viking oversaw all LOTO and Confined Space activities along with technical oversight.  Reps recorded serial numbers for capital spare tracking.  New procedures to safely turn rotor followed with coordination by Viking between plant operations and labor crews in order to safely replace turbine buckets in detailed procedure.  Daily observations done by Viking summarizing all QC checks, FME closeouts, action items, and reviews of all inspection forms.  Photos documenting entire outage taken by both Viking shifts.  Outage mirrored AGP performed in Fall 2014 by customer’s sister plant.


March 2015 – Illinois – 2 Viking reps providing QC oversight during GE 7FA Hot Gas Path.  Daily observations with technical reviews included.  FME closeouts also performed as required during reassembly.


March 2015 to April 2015 – Texas – 1 Viking rep to assist plant during major inspections on entire plant.  Tasks included help with one GE 7FA HGP, one GE 7FA CI, Mark V to Mark VI upgrades, and ABB ST Valve inspections.  Daily technical observations performed by Viking rep document QC points, logging daily tasks, and action items to assure proper reassembly of units.


March 2015 to April 2015 – Virginia – 2 Viking reps to provide QC oversight during dual GE 7FA Hot Gas Paths.  Daily observation provided with attendance of shift turnovers, QC hold points, FME closeouts, 


April 2015 – Virginia – 1 Viking rep to help oversee at Mitsubishi 501G major inspection outage.  Tasks included QC oversight with daily observations.  QC points held and FME closeouts performed with Viking present.  Technical issues reviewed during daily turnovers with Viking presence.


March 2015 to May 2015 – North Carolina – Viking customer rep and T&D during GE “G3”Major inspection including HP, IP, LPA, LPB, Generator, Valves, MHC controls and Auxiliaries inspections. Provided technical support and craft direction for reassembly activities. Provided technical data sheets where needed and daily reporting. Calculated shell alignment moves as well as coupling alignment moves. And also helped coordinate oil flush.


April 2015 – Indiana – 1 Customer Rep to oversee QC of GE 7FB Combustion Inspection on syngas unit.  Tasks included learning new piping arrangements and parts configurations to assure proper reassembly.  Daily observations provided.  Coordinated with site project manager to update schedules, work lists, and coordination of LOTO.


April 2015 to June 2015 – North Carolina - Outage oversight providing TD during LSTG Generator Field to ground issue and repairs.


April 2015 to End of May 2015 – Colorado – Customer representative with QC oversight during Siemens 501F Major Inspection.  All QC points recorded, reviews of technical specifications with engineers during turnovers, FME closeouts recorded w photos, and full outage documentation provided via final report to customer.


End of April 2015 to End of May 2015 – Virginia – Two Viking to oversee 2
nd of four GE 7FA Major inspections with rotors left onsite for full rotor inspections and repairs including compressor blends.  Issues with 3rd stage bucket FOD addressed.  Full observations and QC check lists followed on both shifts.


June 2016 to October 2016 – Georgia – 7F Compressor Event with complete rotor swap and Compressor Discharge Casing replacement with alignment.  Roles included QC oversight of 3
rd party labor force to perform casing repairs / alignment in preparation for new rotor, thorough FME clean outs with QC for all associated fuel & cooling piping back to accessory modules, support with capital spare part repairs, RCA support via inspections & documentation for insurance companies, and detailed daily observations logging the progress and decision making process throughout the outage for the customer.


Late August 2016 – Mid Nov 2016 – North Carolina – Technical direction support for customer maintenance crew to perform multiple inspection on GE D5 Large Steam Turbine.  Inspections included valves, bearings, coupling alignment, and full generator field rewind.  Viking oversaw entire outage with quality control points and technical documentation verifying all tasks properly performed.

Late Sept 2016 – Mid Nov 2016 – Mississippi – Single GE 7FA Major inspection with full Generator rotor removal.  Scope of major inspection included Compressor Package 5 upgrade and Advanced Gas Path upgrade for more MWs.  Viking provided technical oversight on both shifts throughout disassembly and reassembly to assure successful outage.  Tasks included daily observations, FME closeouts, QC hold points, parts coordination with site and crews, schedule updates to customer, as well as attending daily outage meetings. Scope included oversight also of GE D11 steam turbine valve inspections for MSVs.


October 2016 – Pennsylvania – Single GE 7FA Hot Gas Path overseeing PSM perform outage to upgrade compressor with latest PSM design.  Scope included generator hydrogen seal inspections and replacements to bolted design.  Daily observations were done to track the technical progress of the outage including FME closeouts and QC points. 


October 2016 – Mid Nov 2016 – New York – 2 on 1 Majors of GE 7FAs plus GE D11 valve inspections.  Scope included Compressor Discharge Casing replacement on one of the two CTs and performed upgrade of both units to 2.6 DLN fuel nozzles from 2.0 DLN.  Viking tasks included technical representation overseeing crews perform tasks soundly with QC checks, FME close-outs, daily observations, schedule updates for customer, and monitoring of parts installed to assure proper performance after reassembly.

End of Oct 2016 to Early Nov 2016 – Tennessee – Service shop work by customer to inspect old MSTG valves on GE units from the 1950s.  Technical direction to inspect valves and determine repairs offsite.  Scope expanded to inspection of governing table in front pedestal with MHC knowledge.  Viking provided daily observations and technical direction to crews.  Repair scopes also filled out with customer assistance for offsite repairs.


End of Nov 2016 – Mid December 2016 – Tennessee – Service shop work by customer to perform Hot Gas Path on older GE 7EA unit.  Scope included full removal of all three stages of turbine section for replacement and inspection.  Viking provided daily observations and technical direction to crews.  Repair scopes also filled out with customer assistance for offsite repairs.


Jan 2017 – Texas – Customer service engineer on a GE 7EA unit.  Scope included reassembly support on unit after compressor wreck.

Viking providing technical direction support for customer maintenance crew to perform multiple inspection on GE "K2" Cross-compound Steam Turbine.  Inspections included machining diaphragms for fit-up, converting arch spring supports to centering pin style, turning gear inspection, steam seal regulator inspection, control valve inspections, lube oil flush, and coupling alignment with line boring. March 2017 - May 2017 - California - Customer representative during Steam Turbine D11 Major inspection. Both LP and HP-IP rotors pulled for inspections. Tasks included diaphragm alignments, bearing inspections, LP rotor balancing, L-0 bucket swaps, HPIP boring and casing weld repairs, HP-IP & LP rotor blasting and inspections, and GEN 390 Magic inspections with disassembly & reassembly. Daily observations were done to track the technical progress of the outage including FME closeouts and QC points. 


March 2017 - Texas - One technical rep for oversight of GE 7EA Hot Gas Path and Generator Magic inspection. Component inspections performed and rebuild of gas stop/control valve. Viking provided nightshift oversight with daily observations, FME closeouts, and QC point sign offs.


March 2017 - Louisiana - Customer rep during Long Term Service agreement of Hot Gas Path and Generator inspection on a GE 7FA. Daily technical observations performed by Viking rep document QC points, logging daily tasks, and action items to assure proper reassembly of unit.

May 2017 - North Carolina - Technical Advisor on Alstom "DKYZZ" 155 MW Steam Turbine Valve and Generator inspections. Viking provided technical direction support for main steam valve inspections, implementing customer service bulletin upgrades, and removing generator field completely for inspections of stator and field.


End of March 2017 - May 2017 – Tennessee – Major Inspection on 7FA plus Advanced Gas Path upgrade and 7FH2 Generator field removal whereby Viking provided two (2) technical representatives for customer oversight including daily shift observations.

Viking provided oversight on both shifts during upgrades whereby turbine compartment had to be completely modified to fit new gas headers and air piping. Much fabrication was overseen as completed by Viking. Daily observations with action items provided each shift by Viking tracking completion of the outage.


April 2017 - Georgia - Customer support during four (4) enhanced CT boroscope inspections and generator bearing leak correction work


Mid April 2017 - Mid May 2017 - Virginia - Viking provided two (2) customer reps during a GE 7FA Major inspection with AGP and a sister unit's 7FA Hot Gas Path concurrently. Seed rotor used for Major Inspection. Complete inspection of compressor with compressor mapping and repairs overseen. Full observations and QC check lists for outage & controls start-up followed on both shifts.



Mid April 2017 - June 2017 - Ohio - One (1) Technical Advisor for back to back GE 7EA Hot Gas Paths with compressor clashing issues. Tasks included inspecting parts and provided recommendations as required, collecting closing data sheets to review and forward to customer engineering team, performed QC checks on reassembly, performed FME closeouts with horoscopes, supervised NDE inspections, provided recommendations for generator bearing & parts repairs, assisted with T2 bearing cap inspections and cracking recommendations, provided parts list for consumables to prevent parts related delays, and submitted daily reports documenting outage activities.


Mid April 2017 - Mid May 2017 - Colorado - One (1) Technical Advisor to help oversight 3rd party vendor perform a Hot Gas Path on a 7FA unit. Upgrades included PSM parts in the turbine. Daily observations reports along with recommendations for repairs needed along the way provided for by Viking.


May 2017 - Pennsylvania - Steam Turbine Technical Oversight for D11 Toshiba Valve outage and CT Technical Advisor on 7FA upgrade to PSM GTOP combustion system. Viking provided QC oversight with technical recommendations to customer during outages. Daily outage reports provided also.


May 2017 - Mid June 2017 - Tennessee - Major Inspection on 7FA plus Advanced Gas Path upgrade whereby Viking provided two (2) technical representatives for customer oversight including daily shift observations.


May 2017 - Tennessee - Viking provided technical direction on a Alstom ST Valve inspection. Helped provide outage oversight with recommendation for parts repairs of removed components to customer.

Mid August 2017 - Dec 2017 - North Carolina - Viking provided one (1) Technical advisor on 1050 MW Westinghouse Steam Turbine Major inspection. Scope included retrofits of all rotors to Alstom style. Duties included nightshift lead for major and LP generator rewedge. Tasks overseen included machining inlet steam flange faces, removing the field and overseeing AGT perform the rewind activities, HP & LP exciter inspections, throttle valve inspections, lube oil pump & ejector inspections, and oversight during full tops on/off alignments using tight wire. Viking oversaw entire outage with quality control points and technical documentation verifying all tasks properly performed.


September 2017 - Mid Nov 2017 - North Carolina - Two (2) Customer reps oversight Traveling Maintenance crew perform 7F Hot Gas Path scope and Generator Field removal/installation. The tasks overseen include generator rewedge and H2 seal rebuild on the 7FH2 generator. Assisted in day to day outage activities supplying daily observations, ensuring procedures were followed along with the correct QC checks during disassembly and reassembly of the units.


September 2017 - October 2017 - Tennessee - Two (2) Technical advisors overseeing a 7F Major with AGP upgrade on the combustion system. An additional Technical Advisor supported the combined cycle Steam Turbine Valve outage. CT Oversight included making sure all the upgraded parts were installed correctly, opening/closing clearances were taken correctly on turbine and upgraded compressor components, NDE activities were monitored for completeness, action items were tracked and completed, removed/replaced parts were inspected for condition, I&C components were reviewed on removal and before installation, all QC hold points were witnessed, and all FME closeouts per formed with documented photos. ST Oversight tracked opening/closing clearances of Non-Return Valve - Main Stop & Control Valves - LP Stop & Control Valves - Reheat Stop & Control Valves - IP Stop & Control Valves - Cold Reheat Non Return Valve, NDE checks reviewed, Blue checks and lapping was completed per procedures, Stroke & Calibration oversight, and all FME & QC points were documented with photos. Daily observations and action items tracked by all three advisors.


Mid Sept 2017 - Mid Dec 2017 - North Carolina - Techical Advisor on 2nd of three GE G5 Major Inspections of Steam Turbine. Scope included upgrades to Alstom components in HP and IP sections. End Sept 2017 - End Nov 2017 - Texas - One customer rep to help oversee OEM perform 7FA Major with Upgraded Flex Seal Exhaust Casing replacement. Followed all steps to disassembly, clean & inspect, perform extra work, replace exhaust with internal alignment/doweling, and reassemble unit back to full operation. QC points were tracked by Viking rep in addition to all the steps and parts mentioned in the scope above for correctness. Daily observations were provided to customer along with full outage report at completion.

October 2017 - South Carolina - Two (2) customer reps for oversight of Second set of Dual 7FA Hot Gas Paths. Scope included complete replacement of capital components from non-OEM to OEM parts, generator inspections of both ends, hydrogen seal casing rebuild, and forward compressor R0 and R1 blends. Viking oversaw the outage with quality control points, FME close-outs, while providing daily observations to the customer.


October 2017 - January 2018 - Tennessee - Forced Outage support by Viking for our first ever 7FA.05 wreck. Unit came down without lube oil. Viking helped the customer through the RCA, Repair, and Rebuilding process affecting both the turbine and 7FH2B generator components. Entire lube oil system was inspected and cleaned. FME close-outs were paramount. Customer rep tasks included wrecked rotor removal, compressor vane dispositions/inspections, combustion component reviews, internal alignment checks with laser, bearing housing inspections and shim changes, casing inspections, lube oil flushing, oil tank inspections and screen checks, generator hardware assessments. Viking provided daily observations, FME closeouts, QC hold points, maintained action items lists, reviewed data for accuracy as taken, followed parts coordination with site and service provider, schedule updates to customer, as well as attending daily outage meetings.


October 2017 and November 2017 - Tennessee - Viking provided two (2) sets of customer reps for two (2) separate outages not back to back performing Hot Gas Paths on two sister 7FA.04s. Oversight included keeping up with the AGP hardware being replaced after its initial runs. Additional tracking of seals was required. Daily observations with documented photos was compiled for the customer each shift tracking the technical progress of the machines along with action items list to ensure no unplanned tasks were missed. Tracking included reviews of all applicable TILs to completion. FME closeouts performed with boroscoped and tracked with photos.


Mid October 2017 - November 2017 - Georgia - Unplanned outage due to generator vibrations leading to installation of belly bands on a 390 ST Generator. Viking came in as customer reps on both shifts to oversee the progress / repair to the customer generator which included welding of the frame to accept new inspection / access ports to complete the belly band installation. Daily observations, technical reviews of procedures, action items, documenting welding issues, FME close-outs, and QC checks were performed along with interacting between customer and service provider to complete outage.


Mid October 2017 - December 2017 - Mississippi - Major Inspection on 7FA plus Advanced Gas Path upgrade with Viking providing two (2) technical representatives for customer oversight.


November 2017 - Upstate New York - Viking provided one (1) Technical Advisor to oversee PSM during a 7FA Major. Tasks included replacement of stator vanes, rebuilding of IGV hardware, compressor mapping and rub repairs, installation of complete new HGP hardware, implementation of technical letters, H2 seal checks, thrust and journal bearing inspections, lift oil line replacements, unit reassembly with proper QC checks and reviews of closing clearances, alignment witness, and photo documented FME closeouts. Every shift included daily observations reports while attending shift turnovers with customer and crews. A final Viking report was submitted for record keeping.


Couple days in November 2017 - Pennsylvania - Onsite support to oversee H2 seal replacement to bolts style seals. Viking assured both halves blue contact checked together for 100% contact 360 degrees around. Checks made to assure proper assemble with springs while taking additional readings to assure proper oil flows. FME closeouts also performed with photo documentation.
